We supply a lot of curtains, and these curtains are designed for the harsh elements of outdoor use. These heavy duty outdoor curtains are designed with several key features which make them outlast traditional curtains and tarps. Here are some of those features.
Wind Resistance - A curtain used outdoors will act much like a sail. It will catch the wind and blow back and forth. This back and forth motion will wear on the stitching and the grommets that hold the heavy duty curtain up. To combat this problem there are three features that can be used.
- Vertical wind rods - These are steel rods that travel from the bottom of the curtain to the top of the curtain. They dissipate the force of the wind from the grommets and stitching to the entire length of the heavy duty outdoor curtains.
- Wind screen pockets - These are pockets which are installed in the curtain that allow some of the wind to pass through. This feature further reduces the force of the wind on the curtain.
- Floor straps - Floor straps should be used in conjunction with the vertical wind rods to provide even more protection from the blowing wind. The floor straps attach to the bottom of the curtain and then anchor to the floor.
