We have seen a rise in warehouse divider curtain usage as the economy continues to force manufacturing plants and warehouses to shrink their output. The rise in the warehouse dividers can best be explained as follows.

As output shrinks, less floor space is required to produce goods, or for warehouses less space is needed for storage. This reduced capacity presents the company with a problem. They are utilizing 50% of their floor space but they are still paying 100% of the heating or cooling bill. This of course is very expensive with the continious rise in energy costs.

Akon has a solution to help these companies reduce these expensive utility bills. With the use of a warehouse divider curtain, the company can section off unused portions of the facility. This curtain keeps the area where the workers are located at a warm working temperature, and the unused area(s) at a much cooler temperature. Effectively, this simple divider curtain installation can cut utility bills by as much as 50%!

Installing the curtains is also a lot less expensive than traditional fixed walls. The curtains generally do not require a building permit, do not require an installation contractor, can be installed in only a couple of days, and can be modified after installation. The curtains can also be taken down quickly once production ramps back up and stored for future use. That simply is not possible with a fixed wall partition.

Warehouse divider curtains also have other uses besides energy savings.

Contain odors and smoke fumes from production

Contain dust and other floating debris

Keep workers and guests away from dangerous machines

Keep sensitive areas private
